Grade 8 Farewell

Tonight is our DD's Grade 8 Farwell or as she insists we call it 'Grad'!

It seems like just yesterday that I got her all dressed up for her first day of school. She had a huge smile on her face and she was ready to face the world, although she was adamant that she wasn't going to learn to read! She did learn but to get her to read is like getting a child to take medicine...lol!

Now she is starting to look like a young lady(although very immature)! I'm hoping in these next four years of high school that we begin to see some positive changes. She's a bright girl with a good heart! Her current grown up wish is to become a radio DJ!

Here is a picture of the gift we got her for her farewell. It's just gorgeous and if you get a chance to pop by the Hunger Site's Store you'll see some other great fair trade items. For each item purchased cups of food are donated. For this purchase 50 cups of food were donated.

For those of you who don't know it's also the week of my sons Grade 12 Grad so it may be a tad bit quiet around here until next week. I am going to try to get some stuff posted ahead of time. Have a great week!

  1. Very nice gift. We have a daughter entering Grade 8 in the fall. She is at the age where she is growing inches over night, and sometimes in a crowd, I don't recognize her or she is difficult to find. It might also have something to do with her no longer wearing the cap she has worn constantly for 2 years less a month. Congratulations on your two graduations. Ever a new leaf to turn when we have children.

  2. Congratulations on your kids great accomplishments!

  3. Ahh, very nice. And congratulations -- I know it's bittersweet.
