  6. Yes, I made this cake for my DS's grade 12 grad. I saw something similar online. The trick was finding grad type decorations - I finally found scrapbooking grad items at Michael's.

    I made the cake with a custard filling. A great tip I found out from Scribbit(see my favs) is to freeze the cake ahead before decorating. This really helped to get the top layer off without it wanting to break.

  7. I bet your son loved it! I haven't done a custard filling in a cake, yet. I prefer making 3-dimentional cakes rather than sheet cakes, but sometimes I have to do them. I did an ice cream cake, once, too, THAT was not fun!
