Puffed Wheat Squares

We had a garage sale at our church last Saturday and one of the ladies had her grandson selling puffed wheat squares, rice krispie treats and lemonade. They sold great. I think the biggest seller was the puffed wheat squares. They were delicious! Nice and soft and the chocolate taste was out of this world. I asked begged her for the recipe. She was kind enough to share it with me. It's so easy, cooks up so quickly.

Puffed Wheat Squares

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup honey or syrup(I used honey)
pinch salt
5 Tbsp. cocoa
2 Tbsp. chocolate syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

6 - 8 cups puffed wheat

Bring the first 7 ingredients to a rolling boil in a heavy saucepan. Boil one minute, stirring constantly. Pour over puffed wheat and mix well. Press into a 9 x 13 greased pan. Cool and cut - enjoy!
